About the author
Timothy Roberts’s love of food began at a young age. It all started when his Oma, who came from Yugoslavia, invited him to watch and learn as she cooked authentic eastern-European cuisine. Tim began his professional education under Chef Paul Ingenito who was once the executive chef of the Russian Tea Room of New York City and owner of the renowned Perryville Inn. Chef Paul educated Tim in the basics of classical cooking, restaurant and hospitality, ideal understanding of flavor, and menu development. Tim competed for the state of New Jersey in Front of The House Hospitality competitions in which he placed 2nd and 1st, earning him a ticket to compete nationally. He started his restaurant experience at The Frenchtown Inn owned by Andrew and Colleen Tomko, where he was taught by his mentors and friends, Chef Dylan Lapham and Chef Bob Menz. After three years at the restaurant, Tim wanted to work more directly with people, which was the driver of his leaving the restaurant. This transition of employment allowed him to start his web series Dining with Tim under Best Foods New Jersey. This web series which features his whimsical cooking gained him a strong following of viewers and sponsors. Dining with Tim rapidly connected with many highly regarded faces of food, agriculture and name brands. Unexpectedly, this would later help bring his dream project a reality, this magazine. Dining with Tim Magazine is officially in the works. What Tim loves most about the restaurant industry is being able to make new connections from all across the map. Tim sees Dining with Tim Magazine being a popular published work in the future, continuously allowing him the sense of adventure, accomplishment, and drive which give him the motivation for continued success in the field.
